Brief Summary of Unit

This unit is designed to let students discover the makeup of the government they are apart of as well as structure of other societies' governments. The students will gain understanding of the Constitution and Bill of Rights and will also understand how the Constitution and Bill of Rights effects the Rights of the citizens living in America. This unit will examine major legal court cases, in which the rights of citizens have changed as an outcome. Students will understand why rights change and how they change as a result of landmark court cases. Students will experience as well their role in government. They will learn how citizens are effected by government and can also participate within government.
